Surface lines caused by dryness and concerns about lip shape or volume need different approaches. Reduce irritation and review moisture care first, then decide whether a medical treatment consultation is appropriate.

Reduce irritation first when the lips sting or crack

Lip licking, peeling, fragranced or irritating products, very hot food, and strong sun can worsen dryness. Use a simple, bland moisturiser and stop products that sting. Recurrent redness or pain, especially at the corners of the mouth, may need assessment for contact dermatitis, infection, or another cause.

Separate lines that improve with moisture from structural concerns

Fine lines that appear mainly when the lips are dry and soften after moisturising may relate to surface dehydration. If asymmetry, border definition, volume, or movement is also a concern, a separate assessment is needed. Discuss the product, amount, and vascular risks of lip filler

Dermal filler injection is a medical procedure. Swelling, bruising, pain, infection, nodules, asymmetry, and rare but serious vascular occlusion can occur.
